There's talk about playing another college football game within the friendly confines of Chicago's very own Wrigley Field. Tom Ricketts, Chicago Cubs chairman/owner and director of TD Ameritrade, is talking about having Nebraska and Northwestern play a future Big Ten conference game at Wrigley.
Why Nebraska? Because Ricketts was born in Nebraska, that's why. And even with the problems surrounding the 2010 Illinois-Northwestern game where the game was played on a half-field arrangement due to safety reasons brought on by a goalpost in one endzone up being attached to the wall.
Nebraska, meanwhile, has said nothing definite about the idea, with school athletic director Tom Osbourne saying "As of right now, we’re just talking about possibilities." Osbourne also mentioned playing Norhtern Illinois at Soldier Field. the stadium in Chicago that's actually set to be a football stadium.
