The Texas Rangers might have a new hitting coach by the end of the business day Tuesday after spending Monday interviewing four candidates who are vying to replace Rudy Jaramillo.
Rusty Greer, Thad Bosley, Gerald Perry and Clint Hurdle each met with a group of Rangers brass. General manager Jon Daniels said each of the four is qualified and on board with the Rangers' desired emphasis on situational hitting.
The three out-of-town candidates all boarded flights and went home. Greer hopped in his car/truck/SUV and headed home to Colleyville. They will probably know in 24 hours if they will be returning to Arlington next season to be the Rangers' hitting coach.
