New York Yankees Assign Joba Chamberlain to the 7th Inning

Joba Chamberlain is on pace to pitch 1st innings in 2017. After a solid start to the season the Joe Girardi and the New York Yankees have declared that Joba Chamberlain will handle 7th inning duties.  Even though Chamberlain was anointed the “7th inning role”, I’m pretty sure that Pedro Feliciano and/or Boone Logan will sneak in there for some appearances against tough lefties.  I’m pretty excited about the potential of the bullpen when you’re talking about having those left-handers and David Robertson available before you even get to the “back three”. Personally, I don’t think it was very necessary to name Chamberlain the 7th inning guy.  I won’t complain about it though if they think it is in his best interest to know when he’s going to appear in games.  For those of you in the Joba-to-the-rotation camp who are still holding your breath, keep an eye on David Robertson, the Triple-A guys and Freddy Garcia (I’m a memb...
