Congratulations are in order for the New York Yankees, who officially became AL East DivisionChamps last night. Yankees Game #162 – 2012 MLB season The Bronx Bombers finished the 2012 regular season with a 95-67 record, the best in the American League. It was a magnificent way to finish a season for a Yankees team where injuries and age made everyone else doubt their ability, myself included at points. So, what is next for New York? Well, the ALDS but who and where will be decided this Friday at 8:30pm EST when the Texas Rangers host the Baltimore Orioles at Rangers Ballpark in MLB’s first Wild Card win, or go home playoff game that will undoubtedly be a dogfight. Now the Yankees will get a few needed days off to rest their old bones, as the Universe waits to see who their team’s first victims will on their path to #28. I was fortunate enough to be at the game last night, and the vibe in the Bronx was very special. This season was long, tough and tiring at times but this team fought...

David Cone calls Ichiro’s bat a ‘chopstick’

David Cone may have some racial sensitivity classes in his future after a comment he made on Tuesday. The former Cy Young Award winner and current Yankees TV analyst for YES Network referred to outfielder Ichiro Suzuki’s bat as a “chopstick” on the telecast during the Yankees-Red Sox game. “Probably a ball, but Suzuki with the chopstick,” Cone said while watching a replay...

Yankees: Season of adversity

While the New York Yankees are on a three-day break before the ALDS this Sunday night at 8:30pm EST, I thought it was the perfect time to reminisce a little New York Yankees (Photo credit: Keith Allison) before the real season begins. So here it is…. Adversity is a state, condition, or instance of serious or continued difficulty or adverse fortune. And that has been the most...

YES Camera Catches Andruw Jones In Underwear After Yankees Win East

Sorry, ladies, you get porky Andruw Jones in his tighty black underwear instead of Jeter, ARod or Eric Chavez. Of course there were those chicks who would lower their standards for the chance to do dirty things to the washed up Jones. He only hit .197 and...

WSOC-TV in Charlotte apologizes to Robinson Cano for false PED tweets

Robinson Cano can thank the players he grew up watching – Jose Canseco, Rafael Palmeiro, Sammy Sosa, Barry Bonds and the rest of the cheaters.  The suspicion of performance-enhancing drug use still burns rampant when players have big offensive years or careers – especially those that play positions that do not usually generate big power numbers.  Professional ESPN clown Skip...

NEW YORK -- The ball flew off his bat, over the wall in right for a game-tying homer in the ninth, and Raul Ibanez felt everything start to go in slow motion.
