I used the term “acquiring” a bit loosely in the title. Forgive me if I got your hopes up or got your imagination rolling. When I talk about acquiring a talented relief pitcher, I’m talking about Rafael Soriano making his return to the New York Yankees’ bullpen. A lot of people refer to getting injured players back early on in the second half as “acquisitions”. In a way, they’re right. The New York Yankees spent a lot of time trying to patch together a pitching staff and bullpen in the wake of injuries.  Phil Hughes made his return to the rotation which will be HUGE if he can find some of his 2010 form and Rafael Soriano could be back in the New York Yankees pinstripes if he get through his rehab assignment without any setbacks. As much as Soriano sucked when he was healthy, it will still be nice to get another relief pitcher capable of performing like a stud.
