Looks like the Mets settled with all of their arbitration eligible players…
Original Post 10:30 AM
According to Enrique Rojas of ESPN, the Mets and Ramon Ramirez avoided arbitration and agreed on a one-year deal for $2.65 million dollars.
Ramirez could be the leading contender for the Mets setup role in the bullpen, and he can also close if the need arises. The 30-year-old right-hander had a 2.66 ERA in 66 appearances for the Giants last season.
The Mets still have Mike Pelfrey, Andres Torres and Manny Acosta heading for arbitration.

Why Reyes wasn't traded and why Wright won't either...
I went to one of Carlos Beltran's last home games as a Met against the Cardinals and there was a large contingent of fans in right field, in fact the crowd was larger then what had become normal in June/July. Many have questioned why Jose Reyes wasn't traded at the deadline, most feel we would have received more in return from a trade then the two picks. The same rumblings...
Do the Mets have any chance to make the playoffs this year?
After an offseason that seemed to be quite boring in the minds of most fans. People ask the question: Do the Mets have any chance to make the playoffs this year? And there is only one way to answer that question, and it’s surprisingly yes. You never know. The Giants won in 2010, and nobody even put them as a contender to win that division.
The Mets aren’t some talentless...
The Mets’ record in 2012 will be_______.
Well, according to the fans of MetsOnline’s Facebook page, 76-86.
MetsOnline fans said anything from 55-107 to 102-60…. So, let’s just say that there was a range.
Here were the answers that we received on Facebook:
So, as I wrote earlier, the average of these answers is 76-86 or one win less than the Mets’ 2011 campaign. I think that given the amount of talent...

eMail Q&A: Why should Mets fans watch in 2012?
Mike in Point pleasant sent in the following e-mail:
“Why should we as fans watch baseball this year? I am not sure I can see a real reason. Sell us fans on why we should watch.”
Matthew Cerrone: I hate to be glib about this, but nobody said you have to watch. You are not required to be a Mets fan. Personally, I watch in good times or bad because I love watching baseball...
Plan for Mets to Draw Fans
Lets be honest, the New York Mets are going to suck in 2012, likely finishing in a distant 5th/last place in the National League East division. The Phillies have the tremendous trio of Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, and Cole Hamels. The Braves have Jair Jurrjens, Tommy Hanson, Brandon Beachy, and Tim Hundson. The Marlins just added Heath Bell, Jose Reyes, and Mark Buehrle. The Mets...David...

“The federal judge overseeing a lawsuit against the owners of the Mets brought by the trustee for the victims of Bernard L. Madoff’s fraud has again ruled against the trustee, declaring that he can not appeal an earlier ruling that sharply limited the financial exposure of the team’s owners,” according to Richard Sandomir of the New York Times.

Mets avoid arbitration with four, including Pelf
The Mets were able to take care of deals with all four of their arbitration-eligible players on Tuesday, inking Mike Pelfrey, Andres Torres, Ramon Ramirez and Manny Acosta each to one-year deals.
Who leads off if Torres is more '12' then '11'...
Photo by Michael BaronOver the last seven seasons the Mets have had Jose Reyes and his .341 lifetime OBP leading off. Since 2005 Reyes played in at least 126 games or more aside from his basically lost 2009 season in which he only appeared in 36 games. Injury reasons aside the Mets will enter the season with a new lead-off man for the first time in many years. Terry Collins has...
