Eli Whiteside is in the house.
When Ichiro Suzuki was traded to the Yankees partway through last season as New York fortified its roster for a late push, he had to agree to move to left field and hit lower in the batting order before the deal was approved.
Now, Suzuki appears to be willing to give up even more to return to the club.
Suzuki is a free agent with plenty of options, considering the 39-year-old rebounded...
The New York Yankees are all too familiar with this scenario that reportedly be decided by sometime next week according to the New York Daily News and also verified via a CBS Jon Heyman tweet.

Although he’s drawn “a lot of interest” from other teams,
free agent outfielder Ichiro Suzuki is waiting to see if the New York Yankees
want to bring him back before deciding where he’s going to play next season,
reports George A. King III of The New York Post.
“They are going after pitching first which is what the
Yankees normally do,’’ Tony Attanasio...
Giancarlo Stanton a Yankee? Maybe.
The latest rumor floating around the MLB hot stove is that the New York Yankees are about to immerse in a possible trade with the Miami Marlins to get right fielder Giancarlo Stanton.
Stanton is one of the last Marlins left after the fire sale, which sent high-priced stars infielder Hanley Ramirez to the Dodgers; RP Heath Bell to the Diamondbacks...
Andy Pettitte has said that he did not want to hold up the New York Yankees off season plans. The 40-year-old has already began working out this winter. The Yankee will know whether or not Pettitte will pitch in 2013 soon.
Last season Pettitte made 12 starts going 5-4 with a 2.87 ERA. He missed twelve weeks of the season after suffering a fractured left leg before returning in September...
Catcher Eli Whiteside and the New York Yankees have agreed to a one-year contract worth $625,000 in the major leagues and $200,000 in the minors.
The 33-year-old, claimed off waivers from San Francisco on Nov. 5, was 1 for 11 in 12 games for the Giants this year. He hit .224 with one homer and 20 RBIs in 60 games at Triple-A Fresno.

As we wait for the right-field situation to resolve itself, I frequently find myself frustrated that there is no Babe DiMaggio ready to take over the position from Nick Swisher — or ready to take over any other position, for that matter. Now, I know that Babe DiMaggio types are hard to come by, but [...]
Alex Rodriguez took a big step back in 2012. To be fair, he suffered a fractured hand thanks to a Felix Hernandez fastball. However, Rodriguez was struggling before and after the injury. The Yankees still owe the slugger $114 million over the next five seasons. They'd like to use him in some capacity and hope that his numbers improve back to his career averages, or...
The Yankees have eight minor league teams from the Dominican Summer League all the way up to Triple-A. Each teams has its fair share of top prospects, but each team also has some 'sleeper' prospects the pundits choose to overlook so we point out which ones to keep an eye on.
Jeff Keppinger may be playing for his seventh team in nine years if things work out with the New York Yankees. Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports says the Yankees are showing renewed interest in Keppinger. The utility infielder could provide some depth for the aging Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez.
Keppinger played for the Tampa Bay Rays last season. He appeared in 118 games...
