The Miami Marlins put on a show Monday night with twenty hits and twelve runs in a 12-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.  Giancarlo Stanton hit two more long home runs to continue a road trip long power surge.   Miami set or tied multiple franchise records in the game with several coming in a wild nine run fourth inning.  The win was also the third in four games for the Marlins.

Mark Buehrle tossed seven innings of two run ball in which he surrendered six hits and no walks while striking out four.   The veteran was credited his eleventh win of the season after being the beneficiary of the big offensive day.    Buehrle has now won two straight starts after going a month without a win.   Chris Hatcher worked the final two innings and allowed a run on three hits.

Stanton now has 26 home runs on the year and five on the road trip in five games played.   The home runs were no doubters as the slugger continued to impress fans and fellow players alike.    Justin Ruggiano hit his eleventh home run of the year while John Buck added his tenth.  For Buck, the home run was part of a four hit day — his first such feat as a Marlin.   Jose Reyes also had a four hit day including three doubles.   Two of those doubles came during a ten hit, nine run inning for Miami.  Those ten hits tied a franchise record and also featured two hits from Donovan Solano and Carlos Lee.   It was the first time in Miami’s history that three players had two hits in one inning.

The Marlins will try to make it two wins in a row on Tuesday when they take on Trevor Cahill.   The scheduled starter for Miami is Ricky Nolasco.
