With two days before the July 31 trade deadline the A's keep playing as if they don't really need to add much help. Yoenis Céspedes put together his second consecutive strong performance in Oakland's 9-4 win over Toronto pushing the A's a season-high 20 games over .500 and maintaining their six-game lead in the AL West. Oakland has won four in a row and seven of the past nine and at 63-43 the team is tied for the most wins in baseball. "Céspedes is going to catch fire here and we're going to ride him all the way home to the promised land" A's starter AJ. Griffin said. Céspedes homered in the eighth inning at the Coliseum to end a 25-game homerless streak the longest of his career. It was his first homer since June 21. "It's not about the home run" Céspedes said via translator Ariel Prieto. "I'm starting to feel better because everything is going to be fine." Oakland entered the night batting a major-league-worst .219...

Elderly A's usher breaks it down between innings

There’s plenty of reasons for A’s fans to put on their dancing shoes – their team has a six game lead in the AL West and is currently on a four-game winning streak. This was good enough reason for one of Oakland Coliseum’s elderly ushers to bust a move in between innings at last night’s Athletics-Blue Jays game. His hip replacements don’t lie, baby. GI Joe character Snake Eyes throws out first pitch in Oakland

Before Tuesday night's Blue Jays-Athletics game in Oakland, the ceremonial first pitch was thrown out by GI Joe character Snake Eyes, complete with his ninja suit and sword. As someone who loved GI Joe as a kid (and I had something like 50 action figures), seeing this was pretty cool, even if the new series of live action movies aren't great. Snake Eyes proceeded to point...

Cespedes snaps funk, sparks A's rally

Yoenis Cespedes struck out looking in his first at-bat, then quickly regained the stroke that has made him such a central part of the Athletics' lineup. On a day when Oakland's pitching wasn't crisp, the Cuban slugger's timing couldn't have been better. Cespedes had three hits and matched his career high with four RBI on his most productive day since winning...

Cespedes Leads A’s Offensive Eruption in Blowout Win Over Jays

Two big innings from Oakland’s resurgent offense and a solid performance from A.J. Griffin helped the A’s cruise past the Blue Jays on a chilly night at the Coliseum. After averaging just 4 runs per game in their previous 6 games, the A’s bats have come alive for 19 total runs in the last two. Yoenis Cespedes led the charge Monday night with three RBI and was just a double...

Oakland A’s GM Billy Beane Discusses Arrival Of Callaspo, Departure of Green

Older Oakland Athletics usher breaks out dance moves

The Oakland Athletics are currently riding a four game win streak, probably thanks to this usher’s dance moves. Although he showed some nice moves, the guy could probably learn a thing or two from cousin Terio.

MLB has been conducting its year-long Biogenesis witch hunt/investigation and is reportedly expected to drop the HAMMER soon on nine alleged cheaters/players being made an example of, chief among them Alex Rodriguez. Ryan Braun has already been slapped with his suspension for the rest of the season, which amounts to 65 games. According to the New York Daily News, most of the players...

The AL West-leading Athletics acquired Callaspo late Tuesday, then he hopped an early flight out of Dallas in time to be available for the finale of Oakland's three-game series...

Blue Jays-Athletics Preview
