Starting Lineups (provided by the official Twitter accounts of the Mets and Braves):

Your 2012 Mets Opening Day Lineup vs. the Braves: Torres-8, Murphy-4, Wright-5, Davis-3, Bay-7, Duda-9, Thole-2, Tejada-6, Santana-1

OPENING DAY LINEUP at NYM (1:10, SPSO/680AM/BRN): Bourn 8 Prado 5 McCann 2 Uggla 4 Freeman 3 Diaz 7 Heyward 9 Pastornicky 6 Hanson 1

— Atlanta Braves (@Braves) April 5, 2012

Starting Pitchers:

Tommy Hanson will be on the hill for the Braves. His 2011 stats are 11-7 with a 3.60 ERA in 22 starts.

Hanson is a tough pitcher, but I think the Mets can handle him today.

Johan Santana, a man who needs no introduction, will be on the hill for the Mets. He has not pitched since 2010, when he was 11-9 with a 2.98 ERA in 29 games.

Expect Santana to throw 88ish pitches today. It would be awesome to see him throw a quality start today.

Notes:

It’s Opening Day… It’s very exciting. Hold back on the pessimism for the day, sit back, relax, and enjoy the game.

Let’s Go Mets!

NEW YORK The New York Mets weren't looking for greatness from Johan Santana in his first Major League start in more than 18 months. Santana set to return as Mets open against Braves

Johan Santana and the Atlanta Braves have the same thing in mind heading into opening day. They'd both like to put last year behind them. It Was A Good Start To The Season For The Mets

There was a crispness to the day. Both in the weather and the way the Mets played. It was a delightful day, one that gave us a glimpse of what could be when they put it all together. Hopefully, Mike Pelfrey was taking notes on Johan Santana and pitching out of trouble as he did in the fifth. The talking heads on SNY – and I’m not talking the play-by-play team – were in their...

Mets 1, Braves 0

Johan Santana pitched five innings of two-hit ball in his long-awaited return from shoulder surgery and David Wright hit an RBI single to lead the New York Mets past the Atlanta Braves 1-0 in their season opener Thursday. Braves find silver lining in black-clouded start

There are dark clouds and silver linings to every game. The dark cloud for the Braves was the fact they opened the 2012 season with only four hits and lost 1-0 to the New York Mets on Thursday. We'll come back to what went wrong for the Braves in a little bit, but right now, we're going to focus on the silver lining. It's the first game of a long season, one that...

Mets unveil Citi Field tribute to "The Kid"
