The Baltimore Orioles have already been active this month, adding Scott Feldman and Francisco Rodriguez. Still, the O's appear poised to make another trade prior to tomorrow's deadline, according to Dan Connolly of The Baltimore Sun. While Connolly notes that some of the rumors that have been swirling around the Orioles are off-base -- including talks of the team acquiring Jake Peavy or Cliff Lee -- general manager Dan Duquette told reporters that Baltimore has what it takes to make additional moves this summer. "We do have the wherewithal to make additional trades. Our farm system is maturing, and we are getting a little more depth to it, and teams like a lot of our prospects," Duquette said. "Our objective is to get back to the playoffs, and I believe we have the resources to help us get back to the playoffs. And ownership is very supportive of achieving that goal." The O's have developed their farm system over the past few seasons, and while they've graduated players like Chris Tillman, Matt Wieters, Manny Machado and Brian Matusz to the majors, they still have several coveted prospects remaining. This list includes top young arms Dylan Bundy, Kevin Gausman and Eduardo Rodriguez along with infielder Jonathan Schoop. Connolly notes that the Orioles would have to receive a player that will help the team immediately and into the future to consider parting with any of their top young talent. In the meantime, Baltimore could consider dealing lesser prospects such as Nick Delmonico, the infielder they shipped to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for Francisco Rodriguez. Connolly says that other prospects such as pitchers Mike Wright and Tim Berry and first baseman Christian Walker have intrigued potential trade partners. As for what additions the O's are looking to make, Connolly lists veteran hitter -- preferably a right-handed bat -- versatile reliever and a starting pitcher as the team's areas of need. To fill these, Baltimore has been connected to players such as Michael Young, Justin Morneau, Raul Ibanez, Kendrys Morales, Mike Morse, Bud Norris and Chris Sale. Of all the rumors, Connolly believes the most likely addition the Orioles will make is Seattle Mariners left-hander Oliver Perez. Follow @mlbinjurynews Looking for fantasy baseball advice?
