Baltimore Orioles designated hitter Vladimir Guerrero could have more tests on his sore right hand.
Guerrero was hit by a pitch in the team's last game before the All-Star break and underwent X-rays that were negative.
However, the injury still bothered him when the Orioles returned to action after the break, and Guerrero was not in the lineup Thursday.
"When you're dealing with that many small bones in that area, there's always concern that something might be there that didn't show up," Orioles manager Buck Showalter told reporters.
Signed as a free agent in the offseason, Guerrero is batting .279 with seven homers and 31 RBI.
