MLB Injury News:
San Francisco Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval has been
diagnosed with an irritated nerve in his right arm, and the slugger will take
the next few days off to rest his injury, according to Henry Schulman of The
San Francisco Chronicle.
Schulman notes that Sandoval will get rest and receive
treatment over the next few days, as the Giants hope this will help his injury
The injury initially arose during a Saturday exhibition
contest. Sandoval later said that during the game he felt something in his
right arm when he was making a throw to second base. He was then scratched from
Sunday’s spring training lineup due to soreness in his elbow and tingling in
Sandoval experienced similar ailments two years ago and was
able to recover and return in only a few days. Because he’s already collected
so many at-bats this spring with Team Venezuela, he does not need much more
seasoning before the regular season begins. San Francisco seems to think he’ll
be ready by the time Opening Day rolls around, if not before.
