Oakland As' pitcher Bartolo Colon had to leave Sunday's game in the top of the third inning with a strained right oblique, and the A's lost to the San Diego Padres 2-1 in Oakland, ending the A's five-game winning streak.

Colon came off the mound to field Alexi Amarista's sacrifice bunt in the third inning, according to the San Jose Mercury-News. He threw wildly to first base, and the error allowed runners to advance to second and third.

After manager Bob Melvin and the training staff checked on Colon, Colon left the game.

Pedro Figueroa, who was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento before the game, relieved Colon and allowed a fielder's choice grounder to Will Venable that scored a run and gave San Diego a 1-0 lead.

Padres starter Clayton Richard (4-7) pitched 7 2/3 innings of shutout ball, yielding just five hits and two walks while striking out six.

After Jonny Gomes got a two-out single in the eighth inning, Richard was replaced by Huston Street, who struck out Brandon Inge to end the inning.

The Padres added a run in the top of the ninth. Carlos Quentin doubled off A's reliever Jerry Blevins, and Logan Forsythe ran for Quentin. Forsythe got to third on a sacrifice bunt, then scored when Ryan Cook unleashed a wild pitch.

Street issued two walks in the bottom of the ninth, and Coco Crisp delivered a two-out, RBI single to cut the lead to 2-1, but with runners at first and third, Street struck out Jemile Weeks to end the game and record his eighth save.
