The San Diego Padres continued their dominance over the Pittsburgh Pirates, sweeping them at home while extending their win streak to four games. The Padres' hurlers also held MVP candidate Andrew McCutcheon to just 3 hits in 15 at-bats, dropping his average five points to .349. The Friars have beaten the Bucs 18 out of their last 21 games. Will Venable is the recipient of the Friarhood Player of the Series Award. The Padres left fielder went 7-12, scoring five runs while knocking in three. He also drew two walks to go along with his three doubles. The Padres will take a day off on Thursday before heading to Arizona to take on the Diamondbacks for a three game series starting Friday night.
