San Diego Padres pitcher Cory Luebke will miss the rest of the season.
Luebke will have season-ending surgery later this week. He will have surgery on his injured left elbow.
He has not pitched in a game since April 27th. He is expected to have the surgery on Wednesday, as he repairs a tear in his ulnar collateral ligament.
He had a 3-1 record with a 2.61 ERA this season. He made five starts, before being placed on the 15-day disabled list on May 2nd.
He was moved to the 60-day disabled list on Sunday. The move allowed the Padres to add Matt Palmer from Triple-A.

The Angels came out on 70’s night and really handle the Padres with an impressive 7-2 win. But the Padres came back, winning the next two including the rubber game in 13 innings, by a score of 3-2. Newly acquired second baseman Alexi Amarista was the star Saturday night, either scoring or batting in all Padres’ runs. Yonger Alonso provided the heroics Sunday early with a game...
The Padres can be such a surprise sometimes. In a game that came down to 13 innings you had to begin to wonder if the Padres would be able to ever score another run. After being blown out on Friday and winning on Saturday, Sunday's rubber match had to come down to 4 extra innings in order to find a series winner. And wouldn't you know it, the Padres prevailed! This is quite...
For the first time since 2006 the Padres were able to beat the Angels. It was a fantastic win to say the least. The Padres played Padres baseball: great pitching, great fielding (one error) and some timely hitting. Alexi Amarista was the spark plug for the team as he was always on base and scored 2 of the 3 Padres runs. I for one am very excited to watch him play in Petco for years...
Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn has joined movie producer Thomas Tull’s attempt to buy the San Diego Padres.
A San Diego Padres fan made a great barehanded grab of a foul ball during Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. The fan bobbled it twice before catching it with his right hand while holding a can of beer in his left hand.

You spilled the salt!
I feel like that’s what you should yell after your Hodgepadre gives up more than three earned runs at home. Raise the fences PETCO! When your Hodgepadre spills the salt, you have to throw the shaker over your shoulder.
But what if your Hodgepadre is un-throwable? Mat Latos sure toed the line last year, but ended strong. Cory Luebke stayed on the table...

Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn is joining with movie producer Thomas Tull in an attempt to buy the San Diego Padres.

Gwynn met with Tull in San Diego last week and said he's spoken with him several...

The bats fall silent across the system as only a late burst for Ft. Wayne fends off a system sweep. Cody Decker is still mashing, Cory Spangenberg collects a few more hits, and that's about it around the organization.

Seriously, are the Halos really going to mess around with potentially dropping a series to the lowly Padres?
