Things sure have gotten fun again. The Diamondbacks let the Mets back in the door late in the game, but Paul Goldschmidt made sure they would avoid extra innings, hitting a solo walk-off home run to win the game 5-4 on Friday night.

Could the D-Backs trade a big name in the winter?

The Diamondbacks may look to move Aaron Hill, Martin Prado, or Gerardo Parra this winter. Or so says ESPN.com’s Buster Olney in a blog he posted this morning. His entire post was based on conjecture looking at contracts, minor league replacements, and team standing, so don’t throw yourself off a cliff yet if you’re Parra’s biggest fan or own four Hill jerseys.

Zack Wheeler leads Mets over Diamondbacks

The batting order changed for this first time in four games Saturday night and the result was a stagnant offense and a 4-1 Diamondbacks loss to the Mets. Manager Kirk Gibson gave Eric Chavez some rest, moving Martin Prado back to third and starting Gerardo Parra. While Arizona collected 11 hits, they stranded 10 and only scored a single run.

Montero Picks Up Fourth Straight Quality Start With Seven Sharp Innings

Oh, Rafael Montero…way to put the exclamation point on a wonderful night of Mets pitching! I was originally so disappointed in the organization’s decision to put Montero in Triple-A where he could have been victimized by the factors that make the PCL so bad for pitchers… and originally, it seemed like he would be. But he battened down the mental hatches, turned it up a notch...

Heating-up D-backs host Mets for three-game set

One thing seems certain: The second meeting between the Diamondbacks and Mets this season will not be as bizarre as the first, when two of the four games went into extra innings and two had rain delays. The D-backs lost the opener in New York in 13 innings and won the final game in 15, when Brad Ziegler recorded the first of his now seven saves as the bullpen underwent a facelift...

Mets-Diamondbacks Preview

Despite losing his last two starts, Arizona's Patrick Corbin has been stellar since the New York Mets handed him his first defeat just over five weeks ago. Corbin tries to avenge that loss to the Mets when he takes the ball in Friday night's series opener in Arizona. Corbin (12-3, 2.33 ERA) entered his start at Citi Field on July 2 trying to become the first left-handed...

According to Lynn Worthy of the Press & Sun-Bulletin, Travis d’Arnaud is on his way to Triple-A Las Vegas.
