Buccos Buzz:
Third baseman Pedro Alvarez, the second overall pick in the 2008 MLB Draft, is heating up.
He went 3-for-4 in last night’s game, hitting a solo shot. It was his second home run in as many nights.
Pedro has collected hits in four straight games, and is batting .467 in that span.
Hopefully he can keep this work up and get the call back to the major league level by the end of the month. The addition of an effective Alvarez would be bigger than any player the Pirates could add to their lineup via trade this season.
