Minnesota's Glen Perkins is perhaps the most active Twins player on Twitter. On Sunday, he used the social media platform to help out a loyal Twins fan.
The Twitter interaction began Sunday morning when Alex Berg, a junior at Bemidji State University, tweeted at Perkins and said he had problems ordering tickets from an online ticketing site for Sunday's series finale against Texas at Target Field. In what Berg called "an act of desperation," he hoped his favorite Twins player could help him out.
"Glen Perkins has always been a favorite of mine and seems like a great guy based off of his interactions with the fans and with the media on Twitter," Berg told FOXSportsNorth.com in an e-mail. "I didn't expect anything of it."
Turns out that Perkins took note of Berg's tweet. Perkins replied by asking how many tickets Berg needed, to which Berg replied he needed four total for himself, his girlfriend, grandmother and cousin. Perkins delivered, tweeting to Berg that he left four tickets at ...
