The Philadelphia Phillies picked up right handed pitcher Steven Register off waivers today and optioned him to Lehigh Valley. Register was released by the Colorado Rockies. The 26 year old had a 9.00 ERA in 10 games for Colorado.
Register gives the Phillies another arm to look at and fills out the minor league roster. You could see him in Philadelphia if someone gets injured or is ineffective. Chances are Gary Majewski would get the call ahead of him.
