Jose Contreras was the most recent of the Phillies’ relief pitchers to go to the disabled list, going Sunday with a flexor pronator elbow strain. Contreras underwent an MRI today and will miss three to four weeks. It has been revealed he has a mild Grade 1 strain of his right forearm. Ryan Madson will close games for the Phillies during Contreras’ absence, and Michael Stutes was called up on Easter Sunday to take Contreras’ place on the roster. Charlie Manuel and Ruben Amaro, Jr. had some differing viewpoints on how Contreras suffered his injury.
