Just another one of those games in which you'd rather throw your tv out of the window than have to watch Roy Halladay suffer another loss. Charlie Manuel posted his 80,000th lineup of the season... It wasn't one we'll be seeing in more games down the stretch.  Hector Luna, tonight's first baseman, hit a ground rule double in the bottom of the second, scoring Hunter Pence. Phillies up, 1-0.  It was not a simple third inning for Roy Halladay. After Jordan Zimmermann and Steve Lombardozzi singled, Bryce Harper sent them both home with a triple to right center. Adamn LaRoche sent up a sacrifice fly to score Harper, followed by a solo homer from Ian Desmond. This Washington team is tough this year, I'll tell ya that. Carlos Ruiz faced an early exit in the top of the third after being ejected by home plate ump Gary Cederstrom for arguing balls and strikes. It was one of the most subtle ejections you'll ever see, Chooch didn't even stand up. Brian Schneide...

MLB pulls Roy Halladay bobblehead fail from website

Looks closely at the photos above and tell me what you see. At first glance, you might see another typical bobblehead that looks nothing like the person it is supposed to be. The face is not very Roy Halladay, but what else is new? This lovely collectible is available for purchase at and was brought to our attention by this Halladay fan blog. Have you figured it out yet...

Time for the Bobblehead Era to End in MLB. Sorry, Roy Halladay

First and foremost, bobbleheads are stupid. I don't care enough to look back into the history of bobbleheads or the history of bobbleheads used as giveaways or sold by Major League Baseball clubs, but it is now officially time for the the bobblehead era to end in baseball. The reason? created a bobblehead of the best pitcher in the game over the last ten years... And...

Phillies Lose Their Fourth Straight Game

With tonight’s 5-2 loss, the Phillies dropped their second straight to the Washington Nationals.  Their fourth consecutive loss drops them two games below .500.  Just when it seemed like the Phillies turned things around, they go back to their losing ways.HALLADAY NOT HIS BEST-Roy Halladay struggled through six innings.  He allowed five earned runs on nine hits.  He walked...

Roy Halladay Bobblehead Was Designed For The Trash

What kind of hammerhead shark designed this bobble head?  The doll has Doc Halladay in his wind-up, ready to throw with the glove on his pitching hand!  This either had to be designed somewhere in Pakistan, or by my 80 year old grandmother.

Roy Halladay: "I Want to Finish My Career in Philadelphia"; Chase Utley "Like a Manager on the Field"

Roy Halladay made a rare radio appearance today on Mad Dog Radio this morning on the Evan & Phillips show. On the idea that he could be traded/leave the Phillies at some point: "I want to finish my career in Philadelphia and that's really all I'm focused on at this point...I enjoy my teammates, I enjoy Philadelphia, and really this is where I want to be."...

The Phils’ losing streak is now at four games as Roy Halladay loses his first start against the Nats, as the Phils lose 5-2.

Roy Halladay loses his first start against the Nationals as the Phils’ losing streak rises to four games as they lose to the Nats, 5-2. The Phils took the lead in the second as, with one man on, and with one man out, Hector Luna hits an RBI ground-rule double, scoring Hunter Pence, who had started the inning off with a single, then moved up to second base on Carlos Ruiz’s ground...

Nats Beat Up On Roy Halladay, Win 5-2

The Washington Nationals used a four run third inning against Roy Halladay to earn their second win of the series over the Philadelphia Phillies last night, 5-2. With the win the Nats victory, they have improved to 26-17 and will go for their first sweep of the season Wednesday night against Cole Hamels.  Steve Lombardozzi, Bryce Harper, Ian Desmond, and yes, Jordan Zimmermann...

Bryce Harper aces the Roy Halladay test

Alright, so we realize it’s been an all-out Harper fest in these parts lately. He’s collected multiple hits in 4 out of 5 ballgames and last night he went up against Roy Halladay (a man some 15 years his senior) for the first time. Flash back to this spring training quote: The other day, Eckstein and Harper had a conversation about how different major league pitchers would attack...

Halladay Suffers Loss, Offense Defunct in 5-2 Defeat

Final: Nationals 5, Phillies 2.   WP: Jordan Zimmermann (3-4, 2.47)  LP: Roy Halladay (4-4, 3.58) SV: Tyler Clippard (1) Hector Luna provided an early advantage for the Phillies in the 2nd inning with a RBI ground-rule double over the center field fence. The bats went silent afterwards, however, as the offense only was able to produce one more run during the remainder of the...

MLB Opinion: For Phillies Fans, It’s Like 1984 All Over Again

Watching the 2012 Philadelphia Phillies is much like it was watching the 1984 Phillies so many years ago. The ’84 team was a team full of talent and a team expected to compete. But in the end, the 1984 Phillies marked the down fall of the Phillies franchise for many years. Could 2012 mark the same in Phillies history? The parallels between the two teams are many. Both teams had...
