Final: Phillies 1, Marlins 2. WP: Steve Cishek (5-2, 2.77 ERA)  LP: Josh Lindblom (3-4, 3.34 ERA) A September game consisting of two non-contending teams definitely will draw minimal interest from the media and the respective city's fans.  Both teams tonight, with nothing to play far, hardly brought anything to the table. The Phillies were trailing 1-0 heading into the top of the eighth inning, before Jimmy Rollins tied it on a RBI-single to left field.  The one previous Marlins' run came from a moon-shot home run in the bottom of the fourth from Giancarlo Stanton. Rollins' RBI prevented Cliff Lee from losing his ninth game of the season.  He threw very well yet again tonight, lowering his ERA to (3.12). In seven innings, Cliff gave up just one run on three hits and zero walks.  61 of his 86 total pitches were thrown for strikes. Sadly, in the bottom of the ninth, Josh Lindblom allowed the walk-off single to Carlos Ruiz.  With tonight's loss, the Phillies have fallen under (.500) with just five games left to play in the season. Roy Halladay (10-8), despite coming off of an injury, will start tomorrow evening against Ricky Nolasco (12-12).  The game will start at 7:10 pm EST, and can be seen on CSN and heard on 1210 WPHT AM & 94 WIP FM. Attendance: 28,201. Starting Pitching Summary:

End of Season Post-Mortem: Philadelphia Phillies

If you would have told me back in March that I'd be writing this piece in September, I would have looked at you funny. But, here we are. The Phillies never really clicked this year after winning 102 games last year, and took a step backwards in nearly every facet of the game. Injuries also played a huge role on this team, with pretty much every relevant player aside from franchise...

It’s official, the Phillies are out of the race

The Phillies playoff run is officially over after losing to the Marlins 2-1 last night. It was another “walk-off” loss for the Phillies their 12th this season, personifying the season. No hitting and poor relief pitching ,a formula in many of the Phillies losses and what needs to be addressed in the off-season. We all new it was coming but I have to admit it still hurts. From...

On Second Thought, Chase Utley Will Not Play 3B for Phillies This Year

Today before the Phillies' loss to the Miami Marlins, Phillies General Manager Ruben Amaro met with reporters. They learned that Chase Utley would not play third base before season's end, Scott Franzke reported on the Phillies radio broadcast. The reason was that there simply was not enough time to determine anything. Going into tonight the Phillies had just six games...

"I felt like my head exploded."  Adam Greenberg will never forget his first Major League at-bat, his only Major League at-bat.  "I lost control of my eyes and thought my head was split open," he said yesterday as he thought back to a moment that should have been one of the best in his life.  "I kept saying 'stay alive,' and just repeated that...

Nationals Top Phillies, 7-3; Phils Drop Final Home Game of the 2012 Season

If this is how the Nationals are going to play in the postseason, then the rest of the National League playoff contenders better watch out. The Phillies fell victim again to the Nats tonight in the final home game of the 2012 season. The Phils may be looking powerful as of late, but they were no match for Morse, Harper, and the rest of the mighty Nats.  Last night, Bryce Harper...
