Jon Niese in his pink cleats

Here are extremely low quality pictures of Lucas Duda’s pink cleats, which he wore today and Jon Niese in his pink cleats, which he also wore today.

I took photographs of the broadcast on my TV, which is why the photos came out in such terrible quality.

Anyway, I thought you all might want to see Duda and Niese in their pink cleats in honor of Breast Cancer awareness and Mother’s Day, so here they are:

Miguel Batista has delivered for Mets as a starting pitcher

Most of the talk around the Mets is centered around if Chris Young or Jenrry Mejia should be the team’s fifth starter after Chris Schwinden failed miserably in his brief audition for the role. Young was terrific in four starts with the club last year while Mejia in one of The Queens Quads that fans are eager to see perform in Citi Field. But lost in the shuffle is the ancient...

Bobby Scales Headed To Japan

Buffalo Bisons infielder Bobby Scales has been placed on the temporary inactive list. The move was made as a result of reporters finding out that he was planning on signing with a team in the Japanese Baseball League. A check of the Bison’s roster on the team’s official website reveals that Scales name has been removed from the team’s roster. Scales, a second baseman, is presently...

Wright Wrecks Havoc, Dickey Continues To Roll Mets Win 9-3

Recap: Coming off a back-breaking 6-5 loss to the Fish yesterday, the Mets kept the theme of having a short memory going as they pounded Jose Reyes and the Miami Marlins 9-3. Dickey took the hill for his seventh start of the year and continued his success against the Marlins, scattering nine hits over six frames while walking only one. The tremendous thing about Dickey’s performance...

Francisco blows…another lead as Mets fall to Marlins

The New York Mets lost another heart breaker on Sunday afternoon as they were defeated in walk-off fashion by the Miami Marlins: For the second time during this three-game weekend series, New York Mets closer Frank Francisco was given the task of protecting a ninth inning lead and failed. With NY clinging to a 4-2 lead, Francisco entered the game to start the bottom half of the...

Chris Young Makes Second Rehab Start Tonite

Mets righty Chris Young will make his second rehab start of 2012 tonight for St. Lucie in Florida State League action. In his first start on May 10th, Young went five innings against Brevard County, giving up five hits, two walks, and four strikeouts. Young is attempting to come back from shoulder-capsule surgery on his right shoulder, a very similar procedure to the one that Johan...

Report: Mets to offer Wright extension

The New York Mets waved goodbye to one franchise player last winter. They are not about to lose another, at least not without making an aggressive push to re-sign him. The team is quietly preparing to offer third baseman David Wright a long-term contract extension at some point later this year -- perhaps as soon as this summer -- according to a baseball official briefed on the Mets...

Mad Men

Jonathon Niese pitched six shutout innings.  Kirk Nieuwenhuis started yet another rally.  Mike Baxter got well-deserved respect as a premier pinch-hitter.  Justin Turner won another battle against Heath Bell. And the Mets still lost. After Nieuwenhuis started a two-run inning for the Mets in the fourth inning with a single, Niese continued to pitch shutout ball before being lifted...

Francisco saves Mets' victory despite boos

NEW YORK -- Frank Francisco heard the boos in the ninth inning at Citi Field on Monday, as he threatened to blow his second straight save. Earlier, the New York Mets had used a suicide squeeze play, an error and an RBI single to build a three-run lead while starter Miguel Batista and a pair of relievers shut out the Milwaukee Brewers for the first eight innings. Now, a few hours...

Game Preview: Brewers @ Mets

On Saturday, the Mets showed the could bounce back from a crushing loss. Today the Mets will look to do the same thing as they take on the Brewers to start a quick two game series at Citi Field. The Mets will have Batista make the start tonight as Gallardo will make the start for the Brew Crew. Batista is 0-1 on the season with a 5.89 ERA over 18.1 innings. In his last start he pitched...

Greinke, Brewers look to squash Mets sweep

Daniel Murphy is red hot at the plate, especially at Citi Field. The New York Mets are reaping the benefits. The second baseman goes for the longest hitting streak of his career as the Mets try to win for the eighth time in 10 tries by sweeping this two-game set against the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night. Murphy is hitting .333 with a team-leading 10 doubles and 14 RBIs on...

Name and Number

The trick to navigating life is perception. For example, you might think Miguel Batista is old, but Jamie Moyer wants Batista off his lawn.So did the Brewers. But they only got four hits off him in seven innings, so maybe get some more hits off him if you want him off the lawn sooner. (Age ain't nothin' but a number.) Batista led the Mets to a 3-1 victory in which Frank Francisco...
