In what has become a trend for the Pittsburgh Pirates a second baseman left Monday night’s game with the Chicago Cubs with concussion-like symptoms.  Tonight’s victim was Bobby Crosby after colliding with right fielder Lastings Milledge.   Geovany Soto hit a flare down the right field line and Milledge charged as Crosby was running hard toward the ball with his back toward Milledge.  The Pirates players collided and the ball dropped, Milledge’s glove went flying, and Crosby was face down after bouncing off Milledge’s right shoulder.

Crosby was playing second base because on Saturday, Ryan Church collided with second baseman Neil Walker.   Walker had to leave the game and hasn’t played since that time.  He had an MRI today which was negative.  We have not heard a report on a possible return for Walker to the Pirates lineup.
