Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher James McDonald coached his team to a Super Bowl championship Thursday night. Following his appearance, he felt the need to give what any Super Bowl winning coach would receive - a Gatorade shower. Actually, McDonald made it through seven innings for the first time this year. He gave four earned runs and struck out three before leaving the game with a 6-4 lead. The Pirates bullpen gave McDonald a cold shower of their own by promptly letting in three Cubs runs in the eighth and the Pirates lost 7-6. The Pirates fell two games below .500. They have not finished the season above .500 since 1992.
