The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed right handed pitcher Mike Loree to a minor league deal, and have added him to the Altoona Curve roster. Loree, a 24 year old right handed pitcher, is 6′ 6″, 226 pouns, and last played in the minors in 2009 with the San Francisco Giants, with a 4.67 ERA in 123.1 innings in low-A, along with a 70:26 K/BB ratio.
He played this year for the Long Island Ducks, where he had a 1.79 ERA in 110.2 innings, along with a 115:27 K/BB ratio. While with Long Island, he was on the same pitching staff as former Pirates Shane Youman and Dave Williams, along with catcher J.R. House.
Tyler Cox has been sent back to Bradenton to create space on the roster.
