Dejan Kovacevic tweets that the Pirates will place set up man Evan Meek on the 15 day disabled list. Meek has struggled as of late and has not looked himself as his fastball has not had the same zip on it lately as we are used to seeing. Kovacevic says the trip to the disabled list will give Meek "a chance to regain his strength." Let's hope it isn't anything too serious. Meek has posted a 5.63 ERA and a 2.13 WHIP in 8 innings of work this season. There is no word yet as to who will take Meek's spot in the Pirates' bullpen, but there a ton of candidates in AAA, none of which are all that exciting. The Pirates also have an open 40-man roster spot to work with if need be. Could we possibly see the debut of 2007 1st rounder Danny Moskos? He's got as good a shot as anyone else. We will see.
