Found June 15, 2012 on PRO Rumors:
Here's a running list of pitchers notes around the Major Leagues: – Right handed pitcher Matt Garza is aware that he could be dealt before the July 31 Trade Deadline, but he's not worried about that according to Alex Speier of “I just want to keep playing. It doesn’t matter where. I’ll pitch on the freaking moon,” Garza said. “I love the city. My kids love the city. It would be a great place for them to grow up. But like I said, it’s out of my control.” Garza, according to Speier, is curious about what his future holds and takes the trade rumors as compliments. “It's just natural. It's human nature. Everyone wonders. But the professional in me says keep going, just do your job,” he said. “When they stop asking for you, that's not a good thing. As long as they keep asking for you, it means I'm doing my job. That's what I'm going to keep doing.” – Another Cubs starter that could be dealt before the trade deadline is veteran Ryan Dempster, and according to Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun Times the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees are interested in acquiring him. Rival executives view Dempster, according to Wittenmyer, as a “rent-a-player,” and that, with his strong performance this season teams may pull the trigger on him quick and with solid offers. “If that's the case, then I'd have to really consider it at that point,” said Dempster – The Minnesota Twins placed right handed pitcher P.J. Walters on the 15 day Disabled List with a shoulder inflammation according to the Star Tribune. Image by imagesbyferg under the Creative Commons License Agreement.

Dodgers have interest in Cubs' RHPs Matt Garza and Ryan Dempster

I wasn't intending to write a post about the Dodgers' interest in Ryan Dempster, but it goes hand-in-hand with the Dodgers' reported interest in Matt Garza. Nathan Eovaldi has filled in admirably in the absence of Ted Lilly. There's no timetable for his return. Everyone behind Clayton Kershaw is no better than a middle-of-the-rotation starting pitcher...

Report: Yankees want Ryan Dempster

The New York Yankees have been riding high as of late, winners of their last seven games entering Saturday. It would seem that things in the rotation were coming together behind #1 starter CC Sabathia.  Even though Andy Pettitte has exceeded expectations since returning from the land of retirement at the age of 40, the Yanks want one [...]

Twins starter Walters chased quickly vs. Phils

MINNEAPOLIS Minnesota Twins starter P.J. Walters left Wednesday's game with a shoulder injury after facing just four Philadelphia batters. The team announced Walters was dealing with shoulder pain and stiffness and was not able to get loose. He'll have an MRI on Thursday. Walters gave up four straight hits to open the game before he was met on the mound by manager Ron Gardenhire...

Dempster not bothered by trade talk as he tosses gem

CHICAGO -- Ryan Dempster knows the trade talk is out there. But he's doing a pretty good job of focusing on pitching. Dempster tossed seven shutout innings, allowing four hits, as the Chicago Cubs beat the Boston Red Sox 3-0 Friday at Wrigley Field. The 35-year-old right-hander is in the last year of his contract, and he is aware the Cubs may want to move him to help in...

Twins starter P.J. Walters out with shoulder pain

Minnesota Twins right-hander P.J. Walters left his start after only 15 pitches with pain and stiffness in his throwing shoulder. Walters gave up four straight singles and two runs to begin the game against the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday night, before manager Ron Gardenhire came out to the mound. Gardenhire appeared to give the glum-faced Walters a lecture, then assistant...

Report: Dodgers & Yankees Looking to acquire Ryan Dempster

According to a report in the Chicago Sun-Times by Gordon Wittenmyer, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees are looking to acquire Ryan Dempster from the Cubs. With a league worst 21-42 record, the Cubs are an organization in the midst of a full-scale rebuilding process. First year general manager Theo Epstein is looking to trade established players with value to contending...

Cubs Should Trade Ryan Dempster Sooner Rather Than Later

Before Wednesday’s game against the Detroit Tigers, Cubs president The Epstein and pitcher Ryan Dempster were seen having a long conversation. The two say they were discussing a fundraiser that Dempster has. That could be true, but with all the trade speculation surrounding Dempster, anyone who is naive enough to think that was not part of the conversation is foolish. Ryan Dempster...

Twins' Walters likely to land on DL after abbreviated start

Minnesota Twins right-hander P.J. Walters lasted only four batters Wednesday, tagged with four earned runs and the loss in a 9-8 setback to the Philadelphia Phillies at Target Field. After Walters gave up four consecutive singles to start the game, manager Ron Gardenhire had seen enough. "I said, 'You're throwing 80 miles an hour. What's going on here?' ...

Recap: Dempster dominates, Sox shutout

Castro and Campana desperately try to get their belts unstuck from one another.  (Photo by David Banks/Getty Images) After the Sox erupted for 10 runs against the Marlins on Wednesday, folks hoped that the Sox offense was finally coming together.  Not so much.  The Sox were held scoreless, and amassed only 5 hits against Ryan Dempster and the Cubs on their way to a 3-0 loss....

Twins put RHP Walters on 15-day disabled list

The Minnesota Twins have put right-hander P.J. Walters on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his right shoulder. Walters left Wednesday night's start against the Philadelphia Phillies after only 15 pitches with pain and stiffness. He gave up four straight singles and two runs to begin the game. The Twins recalled right-hander Lester Oliveros from Triple-A Rochester...

Friday Funnies: What Theo Epstein and Ryan Dempster's secret trade chat might be.

Click to watch gif. The other day in comments here, Jacos put up this link and asked for some captions.Looks like the Uecker Seats doesn't it?Thanks for the laugh and inspiration, Jacos ( and whoever took that photo). If you're old enough, you'll know the "He missed the tag!" line comes from a really funny Miller Lite spot starring Bob Uecker which unfortunately...

Dodgers Have Six Quality Starters, But Ryan Dempster Interest Understandable

Rumors have been swirling for a few days now that the Dodgers are interested in Ryan Dempster, but it’s a bit of a curious fit because the Dodgers already have Clayton Kershaw, Chris Capuano, Chad Billingsley, Aaron Harang, Ted Lilly, and Nate Eovaldi on staff. All six of those pitchers (assuming Lilly has no structural

Cubs 3, Red Sox 0

Ryan Dempster pitched four-hit ball over seven shutout innings, and the Chicago Cubs hung on to beat team president Theo Epstein's former club, topping the struggling Boston Red Sox 3-0 on Friday. The Red Sox loaded the bases against Carlos Marmol in the ninth, but he got out of it when Dustin Pedroia forced the runner at third to end the game. That gave Marmol three saves in...

Ryan Dempster Shows He Might Be 'Monster' Theo Epstein Described With Huge Game Against Red Sox (Video)

Does Theo Epstein have a crystal ball? When he was talking about a "monster" and the Red Sox, we thought he was referring to some tough expectations. It turns out he might have just been describing Ryan Dempster and predicting his pitcher's performance. The Cubs ace had a monster effort to lead his team to a win on Friday, both on the mound and at the plate. NESN Nation...

Red Sox News & Notes - 6/16

When you took a look at the lineup that Dale Sveum put out for his Chicago Cubs yesterday afternoon, you had to take a second glance and say "who?". It reminded me of the scene from Major League when they had the different people say "Who are these f'in guys?". However, the Cubs did have a good pitcher on the mound in Ryan Dempster who came into the game...
