Today, Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Chris Snyder told the media that he officially will not be playing another game for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2011. It’ll be interesting to see if he plays another game for the Pirates after that. Snyder, who was placed on the 60-day DL in early June after undergoing lower back surgery, said that the plan for him is to head back to Houston on Wednesday (after the Pirates’ series with the Astros) to spend some time with his family. “[Then I'll] head home to Phoenix on the 11th and continue my rehab at API,” Snyder told the media. “[I'll] meet up with the team when they come to Phoenix on the 19th and continue my rehab throughout the [offseason] and see where I’m at in February.” Snyder, a good defensive catcher, had 26 hits in 96 at bats this season, adding three home runs and 17 RBI.
