I’ll be the first to admit this this ranking of Tim Hudson is probably a little low and perfectly illustrates how colossally underrated he is in fantasy leagues. I didn’t really jump back on the Hudson bandwagon until the end of 2010. I think lingering injury concerns from his 2008 and 2009 seasons still suppress his value in the minds of most (that’s what happened to me) and the rest of the general public gets caught up in his lack of strikeouts. The fact of the matter is that Hudson is a very reliable pitcher…with one caveat; his strikeout rate last year (6.61 K/9) was a 10-year high. If he can’t replicate that rate and throw well over 200 innings again, his 158 strikeouts last year will become an even more damning number. I think something in the 140-150 range is a good estimate. Best case scenario: He’s the industry standard for low-K pitchers so another stellar season Similar players: Doug Fister (DET), Justin Masterson (CLE), Mike Leake (CI...
