Lance Lynn is 2013′s candidate for “Best Starting Pitcher Who Might Not End Up Starting Games.” Last year Lynn surprised us all to the tune of a 17-5 record in the rotation with a 3.67 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 174 strikeouts in 169 innings.
Of course, Lynn started strong, pitching to a 2.54 ERA over his first 10 starts and just a 4.40 ERA over his next 10, but overall he was a better option than Jake Westbrook and Jaime Garcia for the vast majority of the season.
So will Lynn earn a rotation spot out of spring training? He should, but wait and see.
