Two police troopers that were in the New York Yankees dugout at Camden Yards for last nights game against the Baltimore Orioles apparently asked Nick Swisher and Derek Jeter for their autographs… during the game.
It was the top of the ninth inning when the troopers thought it was an appropriate time to ask the Yankees stars for their
One person that witnessed the request said, “Swish was livid.”
I wonder if these officers have ever heard the term… “a time and a place for everything?.” Maybe they just thought their police status offered them the right to ask for autographs? Who knows, but we can bet that the Yankees will probably request that those two are not the ones in the dugout tonight in Game 2 in fair reason.
Game 1 of the ALDS between the Yankees and Orioles was tied going into the ninth inning when Orioles brought in closer Jim Johnson. He seemed to fall apart and the Yankees ending up winning the game 7-2.

Derek Jeter, Nick Swisher Get Autograph Request From Maryland State Troopers During Playoff Game Against Orioles
When people say the O's aren't carrying a lot of experience into their American League Division Series against the Yankees, they usually mean the young players.
But on Sunday night, another part of the Orioles contingent was showing that Baltimore may have forgotten what it's like to be on the big stage -- or just the regular baseball stage, for that matter.

As if asking the Yankees players for their autographs during a game wouldn’t be strange enough, some Maryland state troopers reportedly asked the Bombers for them during the most crucial...

Yankee flashback: A conversation with Jeffrey Maier
The ball jumped off Derek Jeter’s bat and headed out to right field. Down by one run in the eighth inning of Game One of the 1996 ALCS to the Baltimore Orioles, the Yankees needed runs, and fast. As the ball traveled to the outfield, then 12-year-old Jeffrey Maier left his seat in the front row, and went down the few steps to the walkway in front of the fence.
“I really wasn’t...
We Only Beat Boston !!!
The Yankees did not beat Baltimore. Texas did not beat Baltimore. We beat Boston to win the division, remember?Cano hit .620 in the last 10 days of the regular season. He homered twice and drove in six runs on that decisive, last day of the season to break the tie for first. Grandy went deep. I think even A-Rod got on base once. Kuroda was heroic. Even Swisher may have hit a...
Derek Jeter tops annual popularity contest
Love him or hate him, Derek Jeter is still the most popular kid in school. MLBPlayers.com came out with their list of the top 20 selling jerseys since the 2012 All-Star break and there aren’t really any names that don’t belong. However, there are some names that surprised me. Jeter is number one followed by Josh Hamilton, Ichiro Suzuki, Bryce Harper and Mike Trout. It’s...
Talkin' Jeffrey Maier with the Ballhawks
Sixteen years ago, Jeffrey Maier became a household name in both New York and Baltimore.Alright, it might be a stretch to call dude a "household name", but the 12-year-old did, at the very least, get his fifteen minutes of fame. You see, on October 9, 1996, Maier stuck his glove over the rightfield fence at Yankee Stadium and snared what would be a Derek Jeter home run ball...
A Friendly Reminder About A-Rod and October
In the first two games against Baltimore, Alex Rodriguez is 1 for 9 with a walk and five strikeouts. last night, he came to the plate five times and made five outs, though his first inning double play was a line drive that could have easily been a base hit had it gone a foot further to the left. Still, with his game-ending strikeout that followed a seventh inning whiff with the...
Yankee Fans: Don’t Blame A-Rod For Your Teams Batting Woes

ALDS Game 1: Yankees 7, Orioles 2
A 2:26 rain delay and a close game that was in the hands of a great Orioles bullpen didn't leave me much to be optimistic about last night. Couple all of that with the fact that my eyelids were heavy, and you get this blogger going to sleep in the 7th inning. When I woke up this morning I saw that everything that had to happen for the Yankees to win last night happened:* CC Sabathia...
