Last week, I discussed the prospect of retiring Brad Radke’s number, and I asked you guys to weigh in. The response was pretty unanimous, and a big thanks to everyone who took the time to vote. Here’s a complete breakdown of the results:
Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.An overwhelming majority, 64%, support retiring Bradke’s number, though most of you think Bert Blyleven’s number should be retired first (58%). I am not inclined to disagree. Blyleven deserves to be in the HOF (whether he will make it remains to be seen), and he was the second-best pitcher in all of franchise history, behind Walter Johnson. He also helped the Twins clinch their first ever World Series title, giving up just four runs on 13 hits over 13 innings against the Cardinals, with a 12/2 K/BB ratio. I am a bit surprised that Bert’s number hasn’t already been retired, but if he gets into the HOF, it almost certainly will be.
