The Mets and Giants will look to dodge rain drops this afternoon when they take the field at 1:10 pm in the third of their four game series against the San Francisco Giants.  Having split the first two games, the Mets will look to build upon the surprisingly strong eight inning outing of Mike Pelfrey yesterday, which ended in a Mets win, thanks in part to a ninth inning error by Buster Posey.

The Mets will send Dillon Gee (1-1, 2.92 ERA), who is coming off of a very strong outing of his own, to the mound today.  Gee threw seven strong innings, allowing only one run against the Atlanta Braves to earn his first victory of the season just six days ago.  Gee will be making his first career start against the Giants.

The Giants will counter with highly paid Tim Lincecum (0-2, 10.54 ERA) has struggled mightily to date this season.  With his most recent bad outing coming in a six inning loss to the Phillies, he will look to get back on track against the Mets, who he has a career record of 3-1 with a 2.87 ERA in seven starts.
