It?s hard to believe that pitching prospect, Dillon Gee, was just six months old the last time the Mets won a World Series. The Mets selected the right hander in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft 
out of the University of Texas-Arlington.
Many within the organization initially felt it would be a long shot for Gee to make it to the major leagues, as Gee initially only had two dominant pitches.
However, during his time in the Mets farm system Gee developed a four pitch repertoire. These pitches consist of a fastball, slider, changeup and a curveball. The curveball is still a work in progress for Gee.
Gee began to turn heads in 2007 during his first few months of his professional baseball career, in which he pitched for a 3-1 record and had an impressive 2.47 ERA in 14 games for the Brooklyn Cyclones.
Last year Gee began the year with the Kingsport Mets. His success carried over from the previous year and he once again had a solid 3.25 ERA. Mets officials liked what they saw and promoted him, mid-season, to their Double-A affiliate in Binghamton.
Gee made four starts for Binghamton and proved to once again be very successful (1.33 ERA and a 2-0 record). This year Gee will once again begin the season at Double-A where he will work to polish his skills.
However, it would not surprise me to see him on the big league roster within the next few years, especially if he continues to impress during spring training.
