They were the last Pirates affiliate in the playoffs. All five teams that made the playoffs (Indianapolis, West Virginia, Jamestown, GCL, DSL) were eliminated in the first round. This was the second time since 2007 that the Pirates didn’t have a farm system team win a championship. The VSL Pirates won in 2008. Lynchburg won in 2009. The VSL and Altoona Curve won in 2010. No team won in 2011, although Bradenton made the championships. The DSL and GCL won in 2012.   RK: GCL PIRATES The GCL Pirates’ season is over.
