Little can be said about the first impression Dodgers rookie RF Yasiel Puig has made on MLB and its fans. Due to injuries to OFs Matt Kemp and Carl Crawford, the Cuban defector has gotten a call to the majors a little earlier than expected. While his performance has been a surprise to most, he did sign a 7 year, $42 million deal with the Dodgers last year. Criticism of the Los Angeles Dodgers this season has stemmed from their payroll being as high as it is and little results thus far into the 2013 season. The Dodgers currently sit in last place in the NL West division, a far cry for where many in baseball had expected. Thoughts are the mixing of the different veteran players made may an oil/ water type situation. It has at least seemed like that on the field based on the results. The Dodgers are 4-1 in the five games since Puig has entered the lineup and that is not a surprise considering what he has done. In those 5 games, Puig has gone 8-19, with a double, 4 HR and 10 RBI,...

Yasiel Puig is not only breaking records on the field, but also in the team store. The Dodgers sold more Puig-related merchandise from Thursday to Sunday than they had ever sold of any player over a four-day period -- more than even Manny Ramirez, Fernando Valenzuela or Hideo Nomo, according to a team spokesperson. The team sold approximately 3,000 units of Puig-related merchandise...

MLB Youth Movement: Yasiel Puig, Manny Machado

After last year's amazing performances by Bryce Harper and Mike Trout, it was hard to imagine seeing another pair of dominant young players like that this year. Once again, though, major league baseball continues to surprise. Dodgers Keep The Puig Train Rolling

Say what you want but I choose to believe that the first walk-off win for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2013 was due to the fact that Yasiel Puig was on deck. All joking aside the Dodgers are now 4-1 since Puig was called up as they get the win over the Atlanta Braves 2-1 in ten innings Friday night. Hyun-Jin Ryu has been outstanding in his rookie campaign now with a 2.72 ERA including...

Despite another good performance by a starter, the Los Angeles Dodgers were unable give Stephen Fife a victory as the team fell to the Atlanta Braves 2-1 on Saturday night. Fife has now surrendered two or fewer runs in seven of his eight career starts as he only allowed a pair of solo homers. Dan Uggla and Braves starter Kris Medlen did the damage in the top of the fifth. Lasting...

BRINGING IT BACK

Peter Bourjos robs JJ Hardy of home run

Last June in Baltimore, Mike Trout made an amazing catch to rob JJ Hardy of the Orioles of a home run at the center field wall. This June, it was Peter Bourjos' turn. The Los Angeles center fielder made this remarkable grab of Hardy's deep fly ball in the first inning of Tuesday's Angels-Orioles game, dredging up memories of Trout's insane catch from a year ago. There...

Los Angeles Angels Peter Bourjos with a Highlight Reel Catch

Check out Peter Bourjos' amazing catch as he went up and over the centerfield fence to rob J.J. Hardy of a home run in tonight's contest against the Baltimore Orioles.
