Johan Santana may be into his last days of being in a Minnesota Twins uniform.
From Buster Olney's blog on ESPN.com: "Rival general managers say that in recent days, Minnesota's Bill Smith is quietly gauging the market for left-hander Johan Santana, determining what deals he might have, in the aftermath of the report that Santana turned down a five-year, $93 million offer from the Twins. The Mets will be among the most aggressive teams in any Santana bidding."
I'm sure if the Twins don't sign Johan to a long term deal or get the talks into an advanced stage this winter, I'd say he's going to be traded. The Twins being a small market team may not be able to afford the services of Santana, especially if he is looking at a deal over $18 million per year.
Expect his name to have a large buzz and the big-money powerhouses such as the Yankees, Mets, and a few others jockeying for position for one of the pre-eminent left handers in the game today,...
