I had a chance to chat with Eddie Guardado after Tuesday's win over the Tigers. He has 12 straight scoreless appearances, including a 1-2-3 inning Tuesday. You had some struggles about 6 weeks ago. What's been the key to turning it around? You always believe in yourself. I know I don't have the stuff I used to have, but I believe that when I'm out there, I do have enough. I've been throwing bullpens on the side with Andy Hawkins and Mike Maddux and have kept that routine. It's worked out and I've been pretty consistent. Did you think at any point this season that maybe you were done? Yeah. Oh yeah. With the way my shoulder is, you think that. When you struggle and you're older, it crosses your mind. And it did. But I kept battling because I enjoy being here. You want to do your part and help this team win. When you don't, you have to make adjustments. And I've done that.
