Rangers don't really know World Series opponent

The Texas Rangers know who they're playing in the World Series. Yet, the American League champions don't really know the St. Louis Cardinals. Michael Young, the longest-tenured Ranger, is the lone player left in Texas who took part in the only series between the teams. That was in 2004 - or as Young put it, ''a long time ago.'' All he really remembers from that three-game set is Chris Carpenter started once for St. Louis. The Rangers are headed to their second consecutive World Series and will play a game in St. Louis for the first time in Game 1 on Wednesday night.
