The Texas Rangers are not in a position where they can afford anymore injuries to their pitching staff. The club has already seen Martin Perez break his arm and is dealing with Colby Lewis' injury. They've been linked to trade rumors almost out of necessity for another starter. Now, they have Matt Harrison missing a start.
According to the Rangers executive VP of communications, Jeff Blake, Harrison was scratched yesterday because of inflammation in his toe.

Harrison just received a five-year, $55 million extension from the Rangers. The club believes he can be a big part of their future. Harrison has been with the Rangers for five seasons now, and he has proven himself as a potential ace.
In his career, Harrison is 48-30 with a 4.08 ERA. However, last season he went 18-11 with a 3.29 ERA. In 2011, he posted a 3.39 ERA.
