Nelson Cruz homered in the seventh to push the Rangers' lead to 6-3. Now, it's about to get interesting in the eighth. Vicente Padilla stopped the game in the seventh after a grounder by Mark Kotsay that apparently got a piece of his pitching hand. He stayed in the game and needed only one pitch to end the inning. It was his 99th and final pitch.
Darren O'Day is on to face the top of the Red Sox lineup. Eddie Guardado looks like he's about to start getting loose, or else he's just standing up for a stretch. Don't count on Frank Francisco. C.J. Wilson will likely be the closer in the ninth.
