ARLINGTON, Texas The Texas Rangers have put right-hander Alexi Ogando on the 15-day disabled list and recalled left-hander Michael Kirkman from Round Rock. Ogando strained his right groin beating out a bunt during Sundays 5-0 victory over San Francisco. The move is retroactive to Monday. Ogandos next start likely would have been Saturday. The Rangers starter for that game against Houston is now listed at TBA. Kirkman was 5-1 with a 5.25 ERA for Round Rock. Five of his last seven appearances have been starts. Kirkman was diagnosed with skin cancer in January but has continued to play while getting treatment. The loss of Ogando, who is 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA, puts three pitchers who have started for Texas this season on the DL. Left-hander Derek Holland and right-hander Neftali Feliz are also currently on the DL.
