The Texas Rangers won their second consecutive American League West title Friday night, defeating visiting Seattle 5-3 and clinching the division when the Los Angeles Angels lost to Oakland. The Rangers rode three homers, including an inside-the-park shot from Craig Gentry, to build a 5-0 lead and Matt Harrison (14-9) pitched six solid innings for the victory.Adrian Beltre slammed a two-run homer and Josh Hamilton added a solo shot for Texas, which went to the World Series last year and is tied for Detroit in a battle for home-field advantage in the first round of the playoffs.Gentry provided the highlight when his drive to left-center field dropped between the diving attempts of Mike Carp and Trayvon Robinson. The ball bounced to the fence and he easily beat the throw home for his first career homer. All six divisions have been clinched after the Rangers, Arizona and Milwaukee wrapped up titles Friday night.
