Tampa Bay Rays prospect Wil Myers will make his major league debut Tuesday against the Boston Red Sox after being called up late Sunday. Myers was pulled in the third inning of a AAA Durham game and he will wear number 9 according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. To make room on the roster, Ryan Roberts has been optioned to Class AAA Durham (N.C.).Myers, 2012 Minor League Player of the Year, was hitting .283 with 14 home runs in Class AAA. Myers was acquired by the Rays from the Royals in an offseason deal that sent starters James Shields and Wade Davis to Kansas City.According to Rays General Manager Andrew Friedman, the team had been deliberating whether or not to call up Myers and his recent hot streak accelerated the  conversation.  The team was also impressed by the way he improved defensively in his time at Durham. Freidman said ”He’s going to fit right in and help us win games.”Myers will immediately start in right field and will play regularly. ”Of course you don’t bring somebody like that up to sit around.”  said Rays manager Joe Maddon
