Rays recall McGee, Lobaton; place Jaso on DL

The Tampa Bay Rays placed catcher John Jaso on the 15-day disabled list Thursday with a strained oblique, and recalled Jose Lobaton from Triple-A Durham to take his spot on the roster.Jaso is expected to miss roughly three weeks. The veteran backstop is hitting .222 with three homers and 17 RBIs in 180 at-bats so far this season.Lobaton will be making his first appearance with the Rays since 2009. The 26-year-old catcher is batting. 293 with eight homers and 31 runs batted in over 184 at-bats with Durham.Tampa Bay also bolstered its pitching staff, recalling Jake McGee from the minors. McGee has spent most of the season in Durham, where he's 4-2 with nine saves and a 2.70 ERA in 33 innings.
