In the Daily News, Anthony McCarron profiles Kiko Calero, who signed with the Mets this Spring, despite interest from 11 other teams. The 35–year-old Calero was 2-2 with a 1.95 ERA in 67 relief appearances for the Marlins last year, during which he struck out 69 batters in 60 innings, while opponents hit .180 against him. “I’m fine,” Calero told McCarron, referring to his shoulder. “Last year was my best year – I pitched 67 games, threw the most innings (60) I had in the big leagues. I know they want to make sure and that’s why it took so long.
