I have been greatly enjoying the season-long meltdown of the Boston Red Sox. As if last year's fried chicken and beer brigade (and September collapse!) weren't fun enough, this season has had all sorts of schadenfreude for those of us in Yankeeland. Now things have gotten even more ridiculous for the Real Housewives of Boston -- because, frankly, that's what these ballplayers most resemble. The Sox fight like a bunch of mean girls, complete with snide little asides. Good grief. The latest story is from Yahoo! Sports: Jeff Passan reports that Adrian Gonzalez sent a text message to the team's owners, whining about Valentine leaving Jon Lester in to get shelled in a July game. So, instead of Red Sox's ownership telling him where to go with his complaints, ownership agreed to the meeting, which apparently had as many as 17 players. Oh, the meeting was at the Palace Hotel in New York, just before the Yankees series. Way to prioritize for the big series, guys! So, as Unc...

Red Sox' Sixth-Inning Breakdown an Apt Metaphor for Fast-Unravelling Season

Editor's note: NESN.com is going to tell the story of the 2012 Red Sox in Bobby Valentine's words. Each game day, we will select the best Valentine quote that sums up the day for the Red Sox. Dustin Pedroia Right to Place Blame With Players, Not Bobby Valentine, for Team's Disappointing Year

The time for words is over. The Red Sox can no longer blame their struggles on the specter of last September hanging over their season, on the difficulty of adjusting to Bobby Valentine's managerial style or on the multitude of rumors floating around. After 117 games, the blame can only be focused on one place: the performance of the team on the field. Which is exactly where...

If Dustin Pedroia and his Boston Red Sox teammates did go to management in late July demanding that manager Bobby Valentine be removed from the job, they aren’t admitting it. After a Yahoo Sports story indicated that Boston players were critical of Valentine during a meeting with team executives on July 26 in New York, Pedroia distanced himself from the report Tuesday night after...

Red Sox Lineup Looks to Build on Sunday's 14-Run Outburst as Boston Opens Series in Baltimore

After scoring 14 runs against the Indians on Sunday, the Red Sox probably wish they didn't have Monday off and could continue to keep those hot bats on the field. Nonetheless, the Sox find themselves in Baltimore on Tuesday knowing that they need to continue that hot hitting and go on a sustained run of wins immediately or their season is likely over. On that note, manager Bobby...
