Despite another good start from John Lackey, the Red Sox offense could not figure out Brett Oberholtzer as the Astros shut out Boston, 2-0. Oberholtzer gave up four hits over seven shutout innings against the best run producing team in the Majors. The Sox offense had their chances and they were getting contact but it was plenty of pop ups as the Sox had 11 fly ball outs.Dustin Pedroia was the only member of the Sox with a multi-hit game as he went 2-for-4.  Even after Oberholtzer left, the Sox had a chance to steal one in the eighth as Wesley Wright walked Jacoby Ellsbury and David Ortiz got a break as a pop up turned into a gift base hit. But the Astros turned to Josh Fields to get Mike Napoli to strike out. He would also go and strike out the side to get his first career save. What sucks is that John Lackey was able to have another solid outing despite giving everyone a heart attack. After getting Matt Dominguez to ground the ball in front of him, he rolled his ankle pretty badly while making the throw to get out of the inning. But Lackey went and taped up the ankle and was able to scatter eight hits over six innings and striking out ten. But the Astros were able to produce two runs by getting on base and running like hell. Jarrod Saltalamacchia's arm was put to the test and it didn't look good. Astros were able to steal six bases on eight attempts. They finally managed to score one in the fifth off of a Robbie Grossman single to drive in L.J. Hoes. Then in the seventh ,the Astros put on the suicide squeeze to bring in the second insurance run.  The Sox now hold a half-game lead over the Tampa Bay Rays and come out of the gates falling on their faces on the start of their 10-game roadtrip.  Box Score (Photo: Getty Images)
